The apartment is in the Résidence de Tivoli, B3, Montée Voisin, Bandol, Provence, in the South of France. It overlooks the Bay of Bandol and is set at the edge of the town well away from the busy road leading to Sanary, Toulon, and the Côte D'Azur resorts. Bandol's sandy beaches, shops and promenade are about 10 minutes away on foot, or 2 minutes by car. The apartment sleeps four; it has a lounge leading onto the balcony overlooking the bay, two double bedrooms - one leading onto the balcony, the other looking inland towards the mountains, a fitted kitchen, bathroom, and separate toilet. There is gas-fired central heating and hot and cold running water. The large south-facing balcony overlooks the sea at the front, and a utility balcony at the rear overlooks the wooded hills and vineyards at the back of Bandol. General Information Bandol is situated in Provence on the south coast of France, about 20 minutes drive from Toulon or 50 minutes from Marseilles. It is a medium-sized town, known for the good rosé and white wines produced in the area. It is popular with holiday makers of all nationalities, and full of character with good bathing beaches, wind surfing, yachting, shops & restaurants; its eating facilities are good and varied. A fruit, vegetable, and fish market is held daily in the square below the Church, off the sea front. Every Tuesday morning a big general market is held along the Promenade, and the town has a wide range of small shops and mini-markets. There is a large supermarket on the outskirts. Avignon, Aries, Aix-en-Provence and The Camargue are within easy reach. Tourist information on Bandol and its surroundings can be obtained from The French Tourist Office and the Municipalité of Bandol. Travel: Bandol has a railway station on the main passenger routes from Calais, Paris, Nice & Marseilles. It can also be reached by motorail to Avignon, Marseilles or Nice. From Avignon it is about 1½ hours drive to Bandol by autoroute, from Marseilles 40 minutes, or from Nice 1½ hours drive. The nearest airports are Nice and Marseilles, from where one can drive. One can also take a shuttle bus from Marseilles Airport to Marseilles Railway Station, then local train to Bandol. The Montée Voisin is a D-shaped narrow private road on the eastern end of the coastal road which encircles Bandol Bay. Approaching from the town, from the west, Bâtiment 3 is the last-but-one block of apartments after passing through the narrow railway tunnel below the Montée Voisin. Bandol railway station is at the western end of the town; from there it is a short taxi-ride to the apartment (the railway runs through Bandol and along the coast, actually quite close to the apartment). Access to the apartment: Upon arriving at Bandol, keys to the apartment may be obtained from the agent, Jasmine Kandiah, who has 'on site' responsibility for the apartment. I will advise her of the date and approximate time of your arrival there, or you can arrange to meet outside The Casino on Bandol waterfront at a given time. The apartment is normally available for occupation after 2:00pm on the first day of reservation, and for this reason it would be appreciated if the apartment was vacated by 10:00am on the last day, the keys returned to the agent, and the apartment left as tidy as it was found. Linen: Linen, ie bedsheets, pillowcases and towels is not provided. China, cutlery, cooking equipment and tea towels are provided, and must all be left clean for the next guests. Cleaning etc: The agent will
arrange for cleaning to be done at a nominal fee (about £20). A deposit
of £100 is required to be sent to me before your arrival to offset
the cost of any breakages or damage caused during the occupancy. This
deposit, subject to any adjustment necessary, will be returned once the
agent has confirmed to me that the apartment has been left in good order
(this proviso is unfortunately necessary in the light of previous ill-treatment
of the apartment and losses of property suffered). Please allow at least
30 minutes before you depart for the agent to check the apartment. Prices
per week for 2010: Nov 2009 to April
2010 - £285 There is a £100
breakages deposit payable. Charges are in GBP and any foreign exchange will be calculated at the rate pertaining at the time of payment. Click
