My Classmate

When Iziz came to England
he underwent a change
The climate and the customs
were different and so strange
Soon he found
underground
that the 'tube' is a train;
that it rains
cats and dogs
and that logs
can be read or be burnt
and he learnt
that to lie is to fib
that to cheat is to crib
that to study is to swot

He doesn't mind our teasing him,
he never makes a fuss
for he's a sport, our Iziz is
and he is one of us.
