Listen

Listen to the beat of Mother Earth
Listen to her voice below
Deep in the ground you can hear the sound
Of a heart that's torn -with woe.

Why do men destroy my living things?
Whey do they uproot my trees?
Clear away my forests, Spray my crops,
Dump their rubbish in my seas?

Poison fish in rivers too?
Stain my shores with leaking oil.
Damage the wings of helpless birds.
Why do they pollute my soil?

Mother Earth sighed as she spoke these words
Can't we listen to her plea?
Can't we stop looting this fair land
and respect its dignity?
