All Square

Boxes and boxes everywhere
This is the Century of the Square
Vertical buildings towering high
Menacing monsters of the sky

Feet of cement and ribs of steel
Heartless structures unable to feel
They look alike where e're you go
Rio or Rome or Mexico

Sprouting like fungi, up they rise
Architects' dream of paradise
"How dare these upstarts dwarf our walls?"
whisper the ghosts of old St Paul's

Nature prefers a curve to a square
Can you imagine a four-sided pear?
Rainbows unarched? Rectangular trees?
Square eyes and ears? Square knuckles and knees?
