You wake, anxious, tense. So much to be done in the hour ahead.
The children to see to, the shopping, the chores
The cooking, the ironing, the windows, the floors
Stop worrying. Listen. Relax, hear His words
They'll calm you this day.
'My peace I leave with you'. That's what He said.
You're lonely, depressed, there's no one to talk to.
It's silence you dread.
Life seems void of laughter, of sparkle, of fun
And there's not much joy cooking dinner for one.
Believe in His promise. His presence unseen
Is there in your room.
'Lo, I'm with you always'. That's what He said.
You know it's the end. You're scared
As you lie in that hospital bed.
Though you possess faith, it's the future unknown
That's so fearful, which you have to face on your own,
Trust Him who is there in that realm with no pain
'Where I am, there you'll be'. That's what He said.
