THE RISK

You gave man free choice and you took a risk
You can't interfere.
So the suffering cries come of humanity,
The recurring 'Why?'
When disaster strikes and the earth is torn
When the tempests rage
When a mother weeps for a child
That is born with a mind impaired
All the questioning, the agony
The sighs that you hear
And the blame and the taunts come from
Those who believe that You never care.

They forget all the pain and the sacrifice made
When to this earth your beloved son was doomed to die
How he understood what it feels
To be lonely, tempted and sad
They forget the cross and its cruelty
And his forgiving voice
What a risk you take Lord!
What a burden you bear
When you give to man free choice!
